Aquifers-Water Contamination
Water Contamination.  Fort Ord’s water supply comes from wells 29, 30 31   (32 has been abandoned)
Well 29 is showing traces of TCE  0.05 PPM ) the level of concern is 0.5 PPM.  The water from well 29 is
being mixed with that of 30 and 31.  The mixture does not appear to show  traces of TCE.

The wells shown as Marina Coast Water District wells 10, 11 and 12 are all 900’-1,200’ deep and do not
appear to be showing any contamination attributable  to Fort Ord.

Contaminated water is being pumped out of the aquifers, cleaned and pumped back.  The water being
used to be pumped back into the aquifer is being recycled.  No use of potable water from the three
drinking water wells. For additional information visit the
DTSC website and search on Fort Ord water.
